( that means story)
Beautiful handwoven sisal baskets but it are more than gorgeous decor items. Behind every basket there is a story of a maker. In this case the makers are women from the Kasigau region of south-eastern Kenya, located between the Tsavo East and West National Parks. Due to lack of rain ,harvest often fails and they are enforced to find an alternative income. With buying a hadithi basket you support a community of 1100 women and help them creating an income less depending on unreliable agriculture.
Also Hadithi support to protect the area ,a stunning and yet vulnerable ecosystem home to varied and abundant wildlife. Hadithi assist in providing a sustainable alternative to environmentally harmful practices like the poaching of wildlife and destruction of forests for charcoal, timber and farmland.
The baskets have a QR code tag that tells the story of your maker.
